Municipality Orchomenou (seated at Municipal Community of Orchomenos) was the result of the merge of the pre-existing Municipalities Orchomenos and Akrefnia according to “Kallikratis plan» in 2011 (Law 3852/2010) and has a population of 11.688 inhabitants (2011) and an area of 415.914 acres. It belongs to the Central Greece Region (regional section of Viotia) and consists of 1 Municipal Community (Orchomenos) and 10 local communities that are shared in 2 Municipal Units.
