Municipality Ilidas includes the city of Amaliada and 19 former communities in accordance with Law no. 2539/1997 «Ioannis Kapodistrias Plan». Municipality’s seat is the town of Amaliada, a modern city built in the middle of the fertile plain of Ilia. The western boundaries of the municipality is the fairy shores of the Ionian Sea and the eastern ones are the green hills, to which the mountains of central Peloponnese end.
